Direct type execution fails for locally-defined extension types with pulled duplicates

On https://swamp.club/inbox, clicking the Mark all read link does not clear the unread count badge. The link appears to fire (visually acknowledges the click), but the unread count remains unchanged in the UI.

Steps to reproduce

Sign in to https://swamp.club with an account that has one or more unread inbox items (unread count > 0).
Navigate to https://swamp.club/inbox.
Click the Mark all read link.
Observe the unread count badge.

Expected behavior

After clicking Mark all read, the unread count should drop to 0 and all items in the inbox should be marked as read.

Actual behavior

The unread count remains the same after clicking the link. Items still appear unread.
